Good manners when we dress

How we dress?
"Clothes make the man" or "man makes the clothes." Both maxims are questionable.
What we know for sure is that clothes should be designed to enhance our personality.
Don’t buy a dress thinking that your friend has more clothes than you or because you want to show off in front of others.
The most important rule is to dress for you! Being smart does not mean you care about the price, but the quality of cut, the possibility of harmonizing them with other clothes in your wardrobe and pick them so as to not be outdated.

Everyone should consider some basic laws of aesthetics when buying clothes:
* If your skin is pale then avoid yellow and green because they will make you look livid.
* If you are not so slender or your waist is not exactly like a wasp, then avoid wearing folds,
* stay away from horizontal stripes if you're not tall, avoid vertical lines, if you are very tall.
Elegance depends much on details and accessories. A clean and well ironed shirt collar and a matching tie gives value even to a modest suit. In certain circumstances, the outfit is required. If we have no costume required and we can not rent, it is better to give up on the invitation. When our funds are limited, it is preferable to buy few clothes but of good quality.
For a woman is very important to discover herself and to find her style. In fashion it is very important to know how to choose good shoes and good purses.

two basic pieces have to be of really high quality. We can notice that a simple, convenient purse with beautiful accessories it always costs more. A soft leather handbag can last about 10 years and still be in fashion.
Dresses, blouses, skirts, shirts can be cheap and looking good.
But shoes, purses, ribbons, gloves - never.
Learn where to make savings in terms of clothing! You can wear the most expensive and most elegant toilet, but if you have an ugly and obsolete plastic bag you will be classified as poorly dressed
What We wear? Where And when?
Daily outfit

For women: sport or elegant outfit - skirt and sweater or blouse and costume, low heels, simple hairstyle, matching gloves, discrete jewelry (never diamonds or crystals in morning or afternoon), coat with classic cut and possibly with fur collar , leather bag, medium or large. Simplicity should reign.
For men: suit, sweater and pants in soft colors, matching leather gloves, sometimes hat, black or brown shoes, never yellow or brown to a dark blue suit, sport coat, trench coat or jacket three quarters.
Some basic rules: a suit uni requires a shirt uni and a discreetly patterned tie; a shirt with stripes requires a uni tie. Never put a sport tie (in plaid) to a city suit. For evening wear dark gray suit, dark blue or black. White shirt fits all the costumes.
Sport, travel, walks
Convenience should not pass before local customs. Otherwise you risk to not be able to enter in a church if you wear shorts or very deep cleavage - considered indecent attire.
Women: wide skirt or pants, socks not too fine, sturdy shoes with heels down.
Men: sport jacket and trousers, short sleeves shirt, sturdy shoes.
Invitations and visits
Women: elegant costume or dress with jacket, leather gloves, elegant shoes, very fine stockings, leather purse.
Men: dark suit, white shirt and striped (only during day), discreet design tie, socks and shoes of dark color.
Cocktail-party

Women: black velvet costume, wool or silk costume, or cocktail dress, preferably with hat.
Men: city outfit of dark color.
Theatre, concerts
Women: city outfit or afternoon outfit. Very elegant attire is recommended only for gala or premiere. What means very elegant?
To a costume you can match a hat. At a décolleté dress match long gloves and evening purse.
At a normal outfit - silk dress for example - a beautiful shawl with tassels, etc..
Balls
Women: evening dress, cocktail dress or ball dress (no hat), long gloves, furs, discrete jewelry, ball shoes, silver or gold.
Men: for balls held in a restricted circle it is recommended elegant suit, dark, with white shirt, tie gray - silver, black stockings and shoes.
It is also allowed the tuxedo (gala costume, with a special cut and black silk lapels) that goes with a white shirt with starched collar and cuffs, black vest, pants without cuffs, black silk stockings and black lake shoes.
Baptism
Women: is not recommended evening dress, but an city outfit.
Men: elegant city outfit, or a formal suit (Stresemann) composed of black clothes, no lapels, one or two rows of buttons and striped trousers in black or gray, without cuff, matching a shirt with collar and cuffs, gray – silver tie or bow tie, black socks and black shoes. At baptism tuxedo does not fit.
