What means Feng Shui ?

In translation, it means WIND and WATER or else said it represents two vital elements for our life: air and water. Feng Shui is the art of knowing how to live in harmony in this Universe and how we interact with environment.

Knowing and understanding the art of Feng Shui it leads to a better control over your destiny, a better understanding over life, more harmony in your house, better understanding over the forces of nature and the capacity of creating an environment that will help you reach your maximum potential.

Feng Shui can’t be learnt in one day. It takes years of study to understand its importance and mechanisms. In these pages I will write only some ideas about Feng Shui and I hope this will make you want to study and discover more about this art.

Feng Shui bases on the energetic field that flows and surrounds our body.

This energy we call it CHI or AURA. It spreads inside our body through some centers of force called Chakras and outside through Meridians. This electromagnetic energy carries your thoughts, ideas and emotions to all the cells of your body and it influences your mind and heart.

Your thoughts, feelings and ideas spread forward in the external universe and the energies from outside interact with your energetic field and influence your life.

You influence the environment you are living in and the environment influences your state.

Feng Shui can help you in the following aspects of your life: health, emotions, relationship, creativity, financial situation, family, career, spiritual life. You can apply the principles of Feng Shui in all aspects of your life over whom you have direct influence. For example,  to make more friends you must be more social, to obtain a job you have to be more confident in your force, to have a happy relation with someone you must be more understanding.

Feng Shui can’t help you in situations that you can’t control. Don’t expect money to fall from the sky or a lover to appear from nowhere.

ABOUT CHI

Chi is the electromagnetic energy that transports information from an object to another. Chi is the one that flows in your body, transports your thoughts, beliefs, feelings.

A part of Chi is released permanently in atmosphere and in the same time you absorb a new energy. This new Chi energy brings something from the external world, like the energy of the climate, chi of other people, energy of food or the atmosphere of your house. While this new Chi enters in your energetic field, it modifies your Chi, creating new feelings and thoughts. Your energetic field connects you to all that surrounds you whether you like it or not.

SHENG CHI - According to the ancient Chinese theory about the universe, there
are several different sources of energy that move in and around us. Sheng Chi
energy is the good healthy, prosperous, happy energy
. You have Sheng Chi when
you are positive and all good things are flowing your way. You can feel when
there is good Sheng Chi energy in a place. You feel as though you could stay there
forever. It is light and airy. When you live an uncluttered life with fresh flowers,
lush green plants, bright cheerful sunshine flowing in your place you know you
are in good Sheng Chi energy.

SHA CHI - When everything in your life is going in the wrong direction or you feel
unhappy and angry, you are in Sha Chi energy
. You may be associating with the
wrong people, living in the wrong place or connecting to poison arrows coming
in your direction. This type of energy drains you and causes you to become ill.
Living on a land with underground water also causes Sha energy. Poison arrows
are the corners of other buildings pointing at your front door or pointing in your
direction where you work all day. It is a place where the earth is depleted and
the vegetation is poor, where animals are sick and people are impoverished. You
have Sha Chi when you are down and depressed.

THE CHI ENERGY OF YOUR HOUSE

The Chi energy is different depending on areas of your house.

  1. Around doors and windows there are strong Chi currents. If many doors are placed in line on the same wall, this can create a very fast Chi wave, leading to a state of agitation.
  2. Larger the windows are, faster the Chi energy is, creating an active space. The windows that face the sun collect a Chi full of life, dynamic and stimulating.
  3. The Chi that passes through the doors and windows generates a horizontal flux, especially if the house doesn’t have high ceilings. Because of this horizontal flux, chi passes fast from one person to another transforming the space in a place ideal for interactive meetings.
  4. The spaces with high ceilings or located on the last floors in a building or on a hill, have a vertical flux Chi. Here there are developed original ideas and the courage to be different.
  5. Sharp corners in a room generate a strong Chi. If the top of the corner points your bed or chair, you will notice that you can’t sleep good and you can’t even support to stay there.
People that live in a house influence its atmosphere. Fighting, sadness, violence can develop a negative Chi in a room or house.

Your Front Door Should Encourage Good Chi

An attractive entrance to your home or office will encourage good chi, or energy,
to enter. If you can arrange your front door so that it faces your overall harmony
or great prosperity direction, it will help bring in wealth, love and happiness. As
all energy enters through your front door, it is important to keep things away from
the door so the door will be free to open without problems.
Make sure your front door is not broken, and opens smoothly. A broken door or
one that is hard to enter is the worst kind of energy to start with. Your door size
should not be too large or too small relative to the size of the house. If the western
world had practiced feng shui from the beginning, we could have avoided much of
the trouble we have today in our personal lives as well as in our work or business.

Well-situated front doors are wide and lead into a foyer that open to other rooms in the house. The foyer acts as a buffer to slow the fast flowing energy as it enters your home.

The entrance should be well lit and airy. The best shape for a door is oval or square
at the top. Solid wood doors are better than glass doors. The entrance should not
have sharp angles from other buildings pointing toward the door. You can place
a mirrored PaKua to deflect some of the negative energy from entering your home.

You can also hang wood or metal wind chimes to help deflect the energy. Remember, the chimes must be hollow to be effective and the PaKua must be placed on the outside of the house. It is unlucky to have a mirrored PaKua inside of your home. Speaking of sound, soft music in the home is important to elevate one’s energy, making it easier to produce good work that generates more money.

The front door entrance should never lead in a straight line to a back door or large
window.
All of your luck and finances will flow through the house and out the
back door or window. This is the worst kind of energy of all for losing your hard
earned money. If you have this problem fix it immediately.

Nowadays, many people live in city high-rises. Apartment and condominium living
provide different challenges. If you live in an apartment building, never live at
the end of a long corridor, nor in front of the elevator or stairway. All of your
finances will fly away and down through the fast moving energy of the stairway,
elevator or long corridor. If possible, place a plant at the entrance in the hallway
to slow some of the fast flowing energy.
If you live in an apartment building, green plants and fresh flowers can be used to
bring nature into your home.
Fresh flowers brought in weekly help keep your energy level high.
