Purpose of project: Education and development
Ouarzazate is a province in South of Morocco, with a population of 79.600 inhabitants. Once in its history, Ouarzazate had been crossing point for African traders seeking to reach northern cities in Morocco and Europe. During the French period, Ouarzazate expanded considerably as a garrison town and administrative centre.
Ouarzazate is also called the Hollywood of Africa. Here are found important cinema studios like Atlas Studios and Cla Studios, where there were shot many important movies. Atlas Studios is one of the largest movie studios in the world. Several historical movies were shot here, including Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Lawrence of Arabia, The Man Who Would Be King, Kundun, Kingdom of Heaven, Babel, Gladiator, Mummy, Prince of Persia, Alexander the Great and many more.
Ouarzazate is a touristic place. Each year tourists from all over the world come to visit it. This city situated at the door of Sahara has many things to offer and is the start point of all the circuits and excursions to desert.

Beside this, Ouarzazate has many kindergartens, schools with grades from 1 to 12, boarding school and cinema school, but no library.
The foundation of a library in Ouarzazate would give the possibility to everyone to read, to educate, to learn more and to have access to all the good things that books have to offer.
In this sense, we call on all those who have books and want to donate them to the first library in Ouarzazate. The books you will send will serve to all the citizens from Ouarzazate and the villages around, the population from South of Morocco.
